Mr David North is a highly regarded and well respected General and Vascular Surgeon who works in Geelong.
After graduating MBBS from the University of Melbourne in 1974, David worked as an intern and junior resident at the Royal Melbourne Hospital before moving to the Alfred Hospital to commence his surgical training. He obtained his FRACS in 1982 and travelled to the United Kingdom to continue his training in General and Vascular surgery, working at hospitals in Hull, Slough, Stockton-on-Tees, Aberdeen and Orkney.
David began working in Geelong in 1986 when he was appointed to the Geelong Hospital as a General Surgeon. However his interest in vascular surgery led to him to collaborate with the hospital’s first Professor of Surgery, Irwin Faris, to establish the hospital’s Vascular Surgical Unit. He was appointed head of the unit at University Hospital Geelong in 2013 and held this post until retiring from the public hospital in 2022.
David currently operates at St John of God Hospital. He also conducts minor surgical procedures in his private practice, located at 44 Swanston Street, Geelong.
